Welcome to the East End
Explore the history within the African American Heritage Museum.
Welcome to the Historic East End of Bardstown, Kentucky—the second oldest city in Kentucky, established in 1780. Known as the Bourbon Capital of the World and USA Today's Most Beautiful Small Town in America, Bardstown is also home to the first two-story brick church built west of the Appalachian Mountains—Union Church. Restored in 2016, this historic 1812-built church is now home to the African American Heritage Museum.
